Meet the Mob at Al Capone’s Hideout in Couderay, Wisconsin

The Hideout has been called a place of exceptional interest by AAA.  Closed and tightly guarded by imported gangland guns since it was carved from the stately pine and hardwood forest in the early 1920’s, this scenic northwoods retreat of Chicago’s most notorious gangster of the Roaring 20’s now reveals its secrets to the public.

Take a guided tour of the estate and tour the gang chief’s main lodge with its massive, hand-cut native stone fireplace, unique spiral staircases which were custom made in Chicago, and many original period furnishings.  You will also see the Gun Tower where guards with machine guns were on duty whenever the “Boss” was visiting.  See the bunk house, jail cell and more in the Museum of the Roaring 20’s.

The Hideout is located at 12101 W Cty. Rd CC near Couderay, Wisconsin.  The Hideout offers tours daily from May through mid-September and on weekends thru October.  They also offer dining and cocktails Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
